The Wanderers Club and The Wanderers Golf Club

The committees of The Wanderers Club and The Wanderers Golf Club have completed negotiations on golf club Security of Tenure and the future relationship of the clubs. Members of both clubs have approved their proposals at Special General Meetings. The agreement allows the golf club enterprise and tenure of the golf course land to be passed to the Golf Club.

The Chairman and Vice Chairman of each club signed the agreement on Monday 23 August 2004. The president of The Wanderers Club, Mr. Mike Rosholt, and the committees of both clubs attended the signing.

This agreement will allow the clubs to develop separately while maintaining the historical links and common pride in the Wanderers name. The clubs will continue to operate in their own sporting spheres. This agreement is a milestone in the history of both clubs. The clubs will now be able to focus independently on their plans for developing and improving their clubs and facilities.

At the Security of Tenure signing ceremony conducted in the Floral Room of the Main Club, Mike Rosholt, President of the Main Club, congratulated both committees on the amiable manner in which the negotiations took place. He believed the separation was ni te best interests of both parties as they had different agendas.
Mike Jury, on behalf of the Main Club, extended the Golf Club best wishes for the future. Alan Roberston thanked the Main Club and, on behalf of his committee, announced that Mike had been granted honorary membership of the Golf Club. All present committed themselves to upholding the great name of the Wanderers among sports clubs of the world.
