I matriculated in 1994 from Randpark High School after which I
joined Cobie
LeGrange at Randpark Golf Club. In October 1997 I joined Gavin Drummond
at Roodepoort Country Club where I served my apprenticeship under
Gavin and the PGA of South Africa.
In January 2000 I joined the Wanderers Golf Club where I have been
the Golf Director ever since. In February 2003 I was able to purchase
the Wanderers Golf Shop and been very fortunate to be a part of
the Wanderers and all the changes that have occurred in building
our wonderful club.

The Wanderers Golf Academy was established in 2003. Having never
had any established golf instruction for quite some time, it was
felt that there was a real need to add this as service for the members
at the club and to introduce the game to those in the surrounding
suburbs.

The whole image of the club is changing and I think that going forward we will all be very proud of the facilities that we have and of what we have achieved over the last few months.

Steel or Graphite
As a rule of thumb most golfers should look at playing with a Graphite shaft for their Driver and Woods. Why? Because lightweight graphite shafts provide club designers the freedom to create bigger, more forgiving club-heads with larger sweet spots. And, lightweight composites enable golfers to generate more clubhead speed while providing a smoother, solid feel at impact. The combination of the lighter shaft and the new head designs generate greater distance.
