The Easter Bunny visits SAMS

THE SAMS CAPTAINS CORNER

This week the wonderful World of SAMS was sponsored by Lazzara Liecher Incorporated. All the members got an early Easter surprise as the Easter Bunny came in person, one week early to the Wanderers SAMS prize giving. The members all had a chuckle and received an Easter egg – well some took more than one, apparently it was for their grand kids. The SAMS Captains watched you all pigging out. While the Easter bunny was giving back to the members, Tommy “the tourist” was running around collecting donations for the various golfing misdemeanours. Tommy paid Lance Bouah and Terry Bates a visit as they both forgot their shoes and were wearing their golf shoes after showering. No Lance we didn’t auction off your tog bag this week. Tommy tried to get a donation from Mike Dix and Graham Wood, but he couldn’t find them as they were dressed in their Wanderers helpers’ outfits. Apparently they were assisting set-up the prizes so they could get extra drinks from the bar. Good work chaps, next time please set up the podium before your take your beer break. This week’s winner of the Angus Murray Award went to the most surprising of candidates, the real gentleman of the club, John McLaughlin. We are sure many members would have been worse when playing with the pigeon, Ray Coole. We understand your frustrations, John.

The golf course was suburb and we noticed all the detail touches. We must give credit to Darren, Jackie and the grounds staff. Please keep it up as this is really appreciated by all in SAMS. The golfers who really took advantage of our wonderful course were Tony, Charlie, Phil and Gavin winning the “Alliance” Lazzara Leicher and Associates’ hampers. In addition Tony was very happy to walk away with the Itec Jonnie Walker Black for best net.

A SAMS members update from Geoff Knights:

“Mike Leisegang has joined the not-so-happy band of damaged golfers, with an imminent double-knee operation. Ralph Hirsch was deprived of a game of golf last Saturday morning after losing an argument with a urinal and getting a nasty gash in the head. Don Gallimore is also looking at some imminent surgery on his left side. We wish these gentlemen (I mean gentlemen) a speedy recovery and we look forward to doing battle with them again on the lush Wanderers fairways as soon as possible, along with Terry Ward and Dave Backeberg.”

If you guys haven’t noticed the short Easter Bunny directed by Kim was Chris.

Regards,
Chris and Stuart
