Swans = caution please

Friday, 22 July 2011
Swans Just a quick update on our young Swan couple, our little boy was unfortunately hit by a golf ball on Sunday, resulting in a broken leg and has had to be admitted to hospital where he underwent surgery to pin and have an external fixator fitted to his leg to repair the break. On this, we appeal to you to please take care when hitting shots near our Swans, they are fragile and with a little care and effort, we should be able to keep them away from harm. Lenn will keep us posted on his recovery. (Thank you Lenn)

Divots and Pitchmarks

Friday, 22 July 2011
Divots And Pitchmarks Important message from Lenn Flanagan: “I know I keep on and on about repairing divots and pitchmarks, but this is a very important factor in the maintenance of our very special golf course. I know we all love our course dearly and I appeal to all of us out there to please keep an eye on our 4 balls and ensure that we all have a sandbag and that we all make a concerted effort to repair our divots and pitchmarks.”
Interclub Unfortunately, due to Wanderers hosting the annual interclub tournament, the course will be closed this Sunday. The event is a 36 hole tournament where each club enters a team of 4 with 3 scores counting in the morning and the afternoon. I would like to wish our teams well and having a look at the guys who are playing, we are very strong and have a great chance of winning. Good luck guys. Please remember that the clubhouse and bar will be open and why not pop in and come and show your support.

Top 16 Scratch Knockout

Friday, 15 July 2011
Top 16 scratch Knockout The dates for the Top 16 Scratch Knockout have been set for the weekend of the 17th and 18th September. All A and B Division golfers who finished inside the Top 16 at Club Champs this year are automatically entered into the event. We will confirm with everyone and will send you a reminder a little closer to the time. The format is Matchplay, all golfers play off Scratch. Golfers who lose in the first round of the knockout, will play for the plate, ensuring all 16 golfers will play 36 holes on the Saturday. The Top 16 is an amazing event, lots of golf, great competitive camaraderie and an event that ranks highly on all of our top club golfers as an event that they are always keen to participate in and hopefully win. Thanks Lenn...
