CLASSES OF MEMBERS

 

Ordinary Members

Ordinary Members have voting rights and full membership and playing rights.

 

Weekday Members

Weekday Members are entitled to play Tuesday to Friday, and Sunday afternoons. They may also play once a month at weekends with permission from the Captain/ Manager/ Committee at Ordinary Member green fees plus 25% and subject to times being available.

 

Intermediate Members

Intermediate categories have reduced entrance and subscriptions and the category applies to persons aged 19 to 29 years. They have the same rights as Ordinary or Weekday members as appropriate.

 

Junior Members

Junior Members are members in the age groups 12 - 18 years. There are restrictions on playing times.

 

Student Members

Student Members are members in the age groups 19 - 25 years. There are restrictions on playing times.

 

Country Members

Country members must be handicapped members of a recognised golf club. They have playing rights once a month midweek or at weekends subject to times being and with permission from the Captain/ Manager/ Committee at Ordinary Member green fees plus 25%.

NB: Country members cannot be handicapped at The Wanderers Golf Club.

 

Social A Members

Social A Members are allowed to play once a month midweek or at weekends subject to times being available and at weekends also with permission from the Committee - at affiliated visitor green fees.

NB Social A members cannot be handicapped at The Wanderers Golf Club.

 

Social B Members

Social B Members are not be entitled to the golfing facilities.

NB - Social B members cannot be handicapped at The Wanderers Golf Club.

 

APPLYING FOR MEMBERSHIP

In order to apply for membership, the following procedure will be followed:

  1. Application forms, for new membership, will be issued to new applicants by the office personnel for completion.

  2. Once properly completed by the applicant, including proposer and seconders names and signatures, the forms will be returned to the Golf Club Office for processing.

  3. Should the forms be completed satisfactorily, the Golf Club Office will set up an interview with the applicant together with the responsible general committee member or representative.

  4. On successful completion of the interview, the name of the new applicant will be placed on the notice board at the golf club, together with the names of the proposer and seconder for a period of 21 days. During this period the applicant will have the privilege of temporary membership.

  5. Should there be no objection from any member of the club during this period of time, the applicant’s form will be presented to the general committee at their next meeting for final approval.

  6. Should there be no objections from the general committee, the club office will notify the applicant that his membership has been successfully completed and that once his membership fees have been received and his membership card issued, that he is then a member of The Wanderers Golf Club.

  7. Should there be an objection, by a member or by the general committee, the objection will be investigated by the responsible general committee member or representative, and a report will be issued to the general committee for further consideration.

  8. Should the general committee not be satisfied with the final report presented to them, the applicant will be informed that his application for membership has been unsuccessful.

  9. At the end of each quarter the new members, over that period, will be invited to have drinks with the general committee and management of the club.
